Volleyball Dives Deeper into the Post Season

The Lady Bulldogs defeat the St. Margarets Tartans in an impressive outing

On a late Halloween night, St. Margaret’s High School traveled to unfamiliar territory to take on Oak Hills High School in the first round of playoffs. In a not so easy matchup, the Bulldog’s opposition put up a strong fight in a 3-1 final in favor of the Bulldogs.

It was amazing! It felt so good, I was ready to cry. I was happy but I had keep it together for my team”

— Elizabeth Ueleses

Oak Hills Junior Elizabeth Ueleses, put on a strong performance in contribution to the win; ensuring heavy pressure at the net as well as making the game sealing spike at the mid court. Although deep into her third year on varsity, this was her first playoff victory and one worth remembering.

Senior Lauren Leontas, fellow captain is very confident with her team going into the second round of the playoffs after the comeback round winner and believes this momentum will play a big factor in November 2nd’s matchup against Quartz Hill. Although a comeback is never easy, the lady Bulldogs got it done with high praise towards Junior Savanah Cuadie’s serving. All effort will be required from Oak Hills, fans and players alike, once again to overcome the Rebels in a sure Thursday night thriller.
