At Oak Hills High School, Alpha Dog is a tournament for the boys to have fun and show their athletic ability in volleyball. The sign-ups are from April 4th-11th and the actual tournaments starts on April 12th. In order to be involved in the tournament students have to pay five dollars. Any students can be involved to participate to play and will be in teams of four to six players. The Alpha Dog is a team similar to Powderpuff, an event in which girls are able to play football, but instead it will be boys playing volleyball. The winning team of the tournament will have to challenge the varsity girls volleyball team. Between the guys and girls, the winning team will also get a trophy that the varsity girls handmade.

“I am really excited , however, I wish there was more interest [from the students]. It is not as easy as it looks and even the varsity girls say it’s hard to coach,” comments Coach Omar Lopez.
